replication options between DMX4 and VNX
Hello,
i'm trying to find out what are possible replication options between DMX4 and VNX. Is there possible to asynchronously replicate between these arrays?
What I found is that only point in time copies are possible with these products for replication between DMX4 and VNX:
1. Recoverpoint
2. Open replicator
3. Replication manager
4. SAN Copy

Recoverpoint would be your best bet as it provides sync and async replication (CRR), other products you mentioned are good for one off copy or migrations.

if a customer needs to replicate data 200km away from primary site to a disaster recovery site can it be done with open replicator (lets say replicate point in time data twice a day)? are switches with IP SAN extension (e.g. cisco mds9222i) needed if IP link is between primary and DR site?

IP SAN extention, is that FCIP( FC over IP) itself or they are two different things?

definitely FCIP (FC over IP) so i presume, two FCIP capable switches for SAN extension are required. can open replicator replicate over FCIP network over 200+ km?
