symconfigure map hanging
Hello,
This is the first time this has happened in the little over a year I have been here. I am provisioning a lun on the Symmetrix. I checked my zones and they are fine. The Symmetrix is a dmx-2000. There is more space on this array which is why I choose this one over our dmx-3. I executed the following commands successfully and double checked my files before executing.
symconfigure -sid 91 -f create_meta preview - nop (successful)
symconfigure -sid 91 -f create_meta commit -nop (successful)
symconfigure -sid 91 -f map_linux(map meta) preview -nop (successful)
symconfigure -sid 91 -f map_linux commit -nop (JUST HANGS)!
I am running on a linux server. Can I just kill the process?

It finally came back with access to the configuration server could not be established. I am on that server so I don't understand what this means.

it should come back imediatly though, not sit there and appear as if it's hung.

Hi,
The configuration server for symcfg is the Symmerix service processor. If another task is running on the SP when you start your symcfg then you can be locked out. Try it again.

Yes, it was locked. The lock is cleared and now I can run my mapping.
