DRAC - Virtual Media - Java Problem

Hello,

i would like to mount some images with your "virtual media application"

In my DRAC i start the launcher and a java popup comes up

Downloading application

Name: Virtual Media Application

Publisher: Dell Digital KVM

From: https://192.168.9.245

After a few minutes the process stops with some java errors (see at the end)

I've tested it with Java 6 Update2 and Update5, FireFox and IE

I've assumed the Blade last week ... sorry I've no information about old configs.

Thanks!

Dennis

Not sure of the exact problem that you are facing.

As a general tip, did you try clearing the Java cache and retry? to do this, close any open browser windows.

go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Java.

In the Java Dialog, General tab (the first tab), locate the section at the bottom "Temporary Internet Files".

In that section, click the "View..." button, the Java Cache Viewer dialog opens.

Select all the entries in the table (Select one and press Ctrl+A), then click the "X" icon to delete all the entries.

Dismiss all the dialogs by clicking Close and OK. then retry with a new browser window.

Hi

I had the same issue on a laptop I was having to use from home.  But found my work PC to be working which was down to Java not being installed

In your case if Java is not installed on your laptop/Desktop download it and install it.  If it is installed then go to the Java app in the control panel and on the default tab select temporary internet files settings and delete all.   re open a browser and try again.  What I also found is that once the Java connection type was working the Native-Active X would then also work  which also would not work in the first instance.

In the case of getting my work PC to be able to accept redirection I actually had to add my self as a user on the DRAC and then provide my domain name and password within the user settings I was then able to login and re direct the out put.  Trying to complete re direction as root would not work in the first instance but having completed login once with my own user name and password. I then logged out and then was able to use the root user and password as normal

Hope that helps
