Driver Pack installs reset iDrac6 config

Last night I decided to upgrade soms RHES  5.7 servers to the latest available firmwares and updates and after installing the "Dell OS Drivers Pack 6.5.3"  on a number of R610's the iDrac6's nic selection changed from Dedicated to Shared. I use iDrac6 enterpises and not the iDrac6 express.

[root@xxxx]# racadm getniccfg

IPv4 settings:
NIC Enabled     = 1
IPv4 Enabled    = 1
DHCP Enabled    = 0
IP Address      = 172.16.12.11
Subnet Mask     = 255.255.0.0
Gateway         = 172.16.1.10

IPv6 settings:
IPv6 Enabled       = 0
DHCP6 Enabled      = 1
IP Address 1       = ::
Gateway            = ::
Link Local Address = ::
IP Address 2       = ::
IP Address 3       = ::
IP Address 4       = ::
IP Address 5       = ::
IP Address 6       = ::
IP Address 7       = ::
IP Address 8       = ::
IP Address 9       = ::
IP Address 10      = ::
IP Address 11      = ::
IP Address 12      = ::
IP Address 13      = ::
IP Address 14      = ::
IP Address 15      = ::

LOM Status:
NIC Selection   = Shared
Link Detected   = Yes
Speed           = 100Mb/s
Duplex Mode     = Full Duplex
Active LOM in Shared Mode = NIC1

That shoud have been:

LOM Status:
NIC Selection   = Dedicated
Link Detected   = Yes
Speed           = 100Mb/s
Duplex Mode     = Full Duplex

This error seems fairly consistent on all the R610's I have upgraded to Dell OS Driver pack 6.5.3.

So in order to reproduce this, if I have my idrac ent set to dedicated, I just need to run the os driver pack update and it should change? How did the actual update get done?

Yes that seems to be the case on most of the R610 I have upgraded last night. Nic was set to dedicated. Ran the linux update package ( ./DRVPK_APP_LX_R316388.BIN -q) and the nic would get reset to shared mode.

I jus tried this on a couple of R610 systems, the idrac didnt change its settings. I am curious to know if on reboot, you enter the idrac GUI using Cntrl _E, does it match what the racadm command results are? Also need to know the versions of your other system firmwares. if you do a F10 and enter the USC, then go to platform update, then view current versions, if you can pass those to me, I can set my system like yours and try again.

The servers in question where completely up to date (accoording to OME) expect for two things firstly the OS Driver Pack and secondly a perc 6 fw update (RAID_FRMW_LX_R313336.BIN). I looks like most of them where on:

Software application name: Dell OS Drivers Pack, v.6.5.0.12, A00
