Run a Consistency Check on a PERC managed RAID without OMSA?

What is the recommended method to run a Consistency Check on a PERC managed RAID without using OMSA?

Thank you for the assist Martijn G, but they were trying to do so without OMSA installed. If you verify that you have Linux Remote Access Utilities installed, which can be found here. Then you can use the RACADM commands. The commands you would need for this is

racadm storage ccheck:

racadm storage cancelcheck:

Those and a lot more commands can be found here.

Cameron,

This will differ based on the specific raid controller installed. As seen below, the Perc 6/i or H700 series you would access the Raid controller BIOS (Ctrl-R), highlight the Virtual Disk in question, then hit F2 and select Consistency Check. Controllers such as the SASS 6/ir do not support Consistency Checks, even with OMSA installed.

Let me know if this answers your question

Thanks Chris,

I was hoping for a command to run the check from the OS while the system is up :)

Taking servers down every month to manually enter the RAID BIOS just to run a check is not very production environment friendly.

Preferably in CentOS 6,7 and Ubuntu 14.04
