SCCM 2007 SP2-R2 OSD with Dell Backup and Recovery Manager 1.3
I am trying to install DBRM 1.3 on Lat. E6520, and E6220 during OSD TS and the install fails with no discernible error other than generic 8004005 in smsts.log, I don't get anything in the form of a DBRM log either. My install string is: for 64bit msiexec.exe /i DBRMv1.3_MUL_W74.msi /norestart /qn /l*v %systemroot%\temp\dbrm.log for 32bit msiexec.exe /i DBRMv1.3_MUL_W72.msi /norestart /qn /l*v %systemroot%\temp\dbrm.log I am trying with Win7 SP1 32 and 64 bit as well as Win7 Ent. 64bit. It is the only thing hanging up my OSD process, if I choose to 'continue on error', or take it out, everything else works fine. I am beginning to think we should just take it out... If I run this install string manually after the fact, it installs fine, but in a TS no go. In my program properties I have 'whether or not user is logged in', 'run with administrative privileges', and the 'run in TS' options checked, did not specify any OS restrictions. I have not been able to find any info on this app concerning dependencies, etc., no readme, only info on the download site. Any ideas what I might be missing??

I am writing the log to C:\windows\temp, as with the other installs in this TS, and they are getting written, so I don't think that is the problem. I have not tried advertising it as a software distribution to see if that works... I can give that a try. If I log into a Win7 system with an admin account and use the command line above (with the install files locally or on a network share), it does install perfectly and silently. Also the source directory for the package is in a share with all other application sources in our DSL, so the SCCM server has access... but you just made me think of something to check. I unpacked the msi on an XP work station and then copied it to the network share.. I wonder if the file access may be blocked due to copying from the workstation in question. I will check that.
