Short Description for easy way to Update Dell-Server Software (R710)
Hello Community,
I would like to get an easy way to update my Dell R710 Servers (& MD3600F).
We had HP-Servers before and it was very easy: Start SmartStart - this SW checks your Server Software and compares it to the
newest Drivers, Firmware, etc.pp. on the HP-website and then you can select the wanted Updates and install them.
Very easy!
Is there a simple way like this for my Dell Servers?
(I tried with Repository Magaer, but perhaps I'm too stupid for this :- ( ).
Best regards and thank you very much in advance for every hint!

Peter,
You can reboot the servers to the USC/Lifecycle controller (F10 at Dell splash screen).
From there you select PLATFORM UPDATE, LAUNCH PLATFORM UPDATE and then select to get the update from FTP.DELL.COM.
It will now let you know Current and Available updates. Then hit APPLY.
Let me know how it goes.

Hello Peter,
You can try Platform Update --> Launch Platform Update feature in USC which can be accessed by pressing F10 during system boot. Connect to ftp.dell.com and this will download all the in system components firmware and update them.
Hope this solves your problem.

@ Chris & K_Balaji:
Thanks a lot for your quick response!!!
I'll try the next few days but if it works like you say it seems to be pretty easy.
Kind regards,
Peter
