racadm changeover

Hi,

When I try do cmcchanger I receive this information. Even when I write only racadm I get this note.

My college is working on the same machine and his profile is able to do it.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
The RAC is unable to communicate with the BMC. This condition may
occur because of (1) no BMC is present, (2) missing or disfunctional
IPMI-related software components. Many RAC features depend on BMC
connectivity in order to work properly, and you may see failures
as a result.

Hello

RACADM communicates with the BMC/iDRAC or CMC. If you are issuing local RACADM commands then you need to be on the host operating system. If you are issuing remote racadm commands then you need to be remotely connected to the CMC or iDRAC. The message indicates that there is not a CMC or iDRAC to communicate with.

You can also find CMC documentation on the chassis support page.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean "you need to be remotely connected to the CMC or iDRAC"

I'd like to restart it remotely. I open cmd I use commend:

>racadm –r ip addreess –u username –p password cmcchangeover

We have racadm only on administration host.

Like I said my colleague  on his account is able to do it this way.

The command you are using is called RACADM remote. It is a way of connecting remotely to a an iDRAC or CMC.

If you are performing that command and it is telling you that there is not a BMC/iDRAC or CMC to run the command against then the connection is not being properly established. I suggest that you review the manual and your network configuration.

Same error I've got on local machine.

May it be related with some user account settings?

You should be able to tell if it is an account issue by reviewing the logs within the iDRAC/LCC. Any login attempt should be logged. If the login was not successful then that should also be logged. If nothing is being logged then it is likely a networking issue between the iDRAC/LCC and system you are running commands from.

Hello,

When I try connect to CMC I got error:

racadm -r ip address -u xxx -p xxx command

ERROR: Unable to connect to RAC at specified IP address.

On the same machine but other windows profile I'm able to connect.

Same machine, same racadm version, same remote machine.

Where can be the issue?
