Power Remote Options R320 idrac licensing

looking for options on how to remotely turn on an dell r320 remotely when it has been shutdown due to loss of power. We did not purchase the addition idrac licensing but  I see there is the System Bios AC POwer Recovery settings. We use Dell Open Essentials which has Remote Power tasks, which allows us to turn of a server remotely but need the remote access to turn on, which I assume that we need the licensing for idrac to do this?

Hi karalctc,

You need to setup your iDRAC with an IP first. Please have a look at section 3 of below PDF to do the same:

http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/idrac7-8-lifecycle-controller-v2.40.40.40_User's%20Guide_en-us.pdf

Once that it done, you need to enable IPMI in iDRAC GUI network page. After that, you can use IPMI to remotely power on your system. The IPMI command is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SysMgt\bmc>ipmitool.exe -I lanplus -H idrac_ip
-U username -P password power on

Let us know if this worked.

Regards,

Mondeep
