Cannot type bitlock recovery key code on venue 11

At first I was able to type in just numbers only (no letters) and my recovery key had both letter and numbers in it. I escaped the screen and went to another one where I had an option to restore my tablet. I chose that option and turned it on again and I still had the bitlock screen but now I can't type in anything. How do I get through this bitlock?
