Dell Venue 8 7000 Graphical glitches and poor built (android OS) quality
I want to start by saying I genuinely like this tablet. Though a few things give me pause and make me consider returning the tablet and I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts and experience and possibly get some insight from Dell. First is general *system UI and animation lag and jerkiness that is persistent. At first I thought it may be hardware related or possibly under specced in the GPU department. Though the fact that this jerkiness is only on system animation and UI, and not in app, combined with some other bizarre bugginess (Google now swipe up is buggy as hell) . Not sure where to place blame for this because it's clear either this is a bad port and build of android, which lays blame on intel or the firmware for the new chip in the tablet has some issues, which would rest blame on Intel. Though one thing is for sure and this is resolvable by software updates. Any one else experiencing similar issues or have any input? Another thing off topic that I found a little funny but gave me pause was the either Chinese or Korean language under the android during the last update. I thought I was tricked and hacked for a second. This isn't an issue but I found it funny and perhaps shows an underlying lack of effort. The little things like using the system language on the update is careless and shows a lack of effort. It's a little nit pick that is not nearly huge compared to the major issues discussed earlier, but it shows a underlying lack of effort. If this was intentional by Dell someone from them speak up, but if not it concerns me as missing that shows how little testing was done before releasing the update and it worries me for lollipop.

I haven't noticed any UI problems. It could be that I'm not sensitive to what you are seeing. One of the things I do is reduce animations in developer settings as part my initial setup.

I digress, it's not as much lag as it is frame dropping that causes the animations to be less smooth. I reduce the developer setting for all the animations on all my devices. This one no exception. I guess if this isn't something your looking for you may not notice it (except when its bad and the multitasking one) but its not something I'd expect on a 400$ tablet
