I didn't think I was having the Wi-Fi problem, because I normally just shut the tablet down instead of putting it to sleep. But I see that if I leave it on, and I get busy doing something else, it will of course go to sleep on its own. If it's asleep for an extended amount of time, which I haven't determined yet, when I wake it up, the connections is gone. Settings shows no available connections. The last time I got the connection back by rebooting.
My two cent for everyone still having this issue (because I dont have them, and two of my friends dont have them too owning a V8P):
1) Reset Windows to factory
2) disable Windows auto updates
3) Install these three Dell updates (1st Intel Chipset, dont install Intel TXEI Driver, 2nd Dell Wireless 1538 WiFi/BT Driver, 3rd Dell Wireless 1538 WAPI Application)
4) activate Windows auto updates and install all of them
Have fun with working Wifi/Venue 8 Pro without any battery drain (my V8P drains 0.35%/h in standby)
Please be aware that Wifi just works stable though WITHOUT n mode (just b/g 54mbit), both 2,4 and 5Ghz. And please stop posting this "shutdown workaround" stupidity. If you still have Wifi issues after this, buy a new router.
I recently change the Wifi setup on my Linksys E4200 to be Open, but with a hidden hard to guess SSID and haven't had any issues with the Wfi showing up as Limited when waking up from sleep for the past 3 days now.

Hmm to hear so many issues. Now me? I got it the third day it was avalible from my local Wal Mart but all I ever did when not using wi fi is turning the system off never stand by (wifi seems to remain on during sleep and drains the system too fast.) I am writing a novel with it (really guys it is big enough if you clear off the clutter on the screen) but I had absolutely no isses what so ever since I started shutting it down instead of sleep mode. Then again I don't try to turn off wifi and that is the real issue. How we have to fight to get it back on after we turn it off. I mean it's coding issue fix the damn thing because if it's on and works fine and if it's off it works fine then the coding is the issue f not switching between the two states freely. Starting to think the NSA( which M$ fully co oped in) doesn't want us to turn it off =P Oh one more thing when watching a show on hulu How do I get the bloody thing NOT to pop up a screen saver or shut down? I tried everything and if you leave it alone it interrupts my shows regardless of what I set it to do. My laptop has 8.1 and it doesn't do this. Help it's annoying.
I had the same issue when the tablet went to sleep, I had to turn off the wifi and turn it back on to get a connection. The tablet showed it had a wireless signal but I couldn't do anything on the Internet until I cycled it. I read a post on a different forum that stated to turn off the wireless N on my Linksys E4200 and make it G only. Once I did that on the 2.4 Ghz band, I can leave the tablet in sleep mode for days and it connects to the network sucessfully right away every time. It is sad we have to "demote" our router but the tablet is rock solid this way!!
Well now there are 2 of us who have tested this theory and are spreading the word. We shouldn't have to do that to our routers though. Dell needs to fix this problem...
They wont be able to fix it, that goes to Broadcom. And it's mostly not fixable. Intel had the same problem on some of their chips and never was able to fix it. ALso b/g isnt that bad anyway, it has better patency, and makes less problems. 50mbit is enough for everything if you dont need to move hugh amounts of data from your laptop to your pc or vice versa.
@Bagels2001 Thumbs up you read on another forum to turn off N mode. Hugh gz. I said this three times on THIS thread, that all you have to do is use b/g mode and it becomes stable. People and reading these days.

Hi
Can you elaborate? What is Linksys E4200 and how do you change it?
Thanks!

This is from my Desktop, but it's the same on the Tablet:
I should add that to get here, open the Action Center, click on Windows Update, then click on Installed Updates.
