Dell Venue Pro Update to WP 7.8?

Microsoft has officially not provided the release date. It is rumored to be early 2013.

Once Microsoft launches the release date Dell will let everyone know if Windows 7.8 update will be available for venue pro.

Please get back to us for further information.

Will the disable functions such as WIFI tethering and E-compass come back online?

Although the step is for WP7.5, the step are the same.

Didn't work for me. Several attempts. The instructions aren't terribly clear. Am I supposed to turn cell/wi-fi off on my phone too?

You know how excellent the technical service is. About the force update, google a bit. Two advices:

1. Turn on airplane mode

2. Do not connect your phone to a USB hub. The method work for me.

No such luck for me. I've tried to force the update countless times and it hasn't worked yet.

Please, someone who's gotten it to work, I implore you to post the EXACT steps.

I have Dell Venue pro with Windows 7.1  I wanted to update it to windows 8. How to do it?

When i see update in zune it shows your windows phone is up to date. No update available.

This is impossible. You may only update to WP7.8

I updated my DELL venue pro to 7.8 but now i cannot access to 'settings' or 'messages' and when I press one of these options the phone kick me back to the home screen.

I tried to hard-reset using the keys and zune but the error is still happening.

Also Zune finds an update and it try to install it but at the end it shows an error.

Is there any way to fix the error or rollback the update?

The kick back error may caused by the incomplete update. In order for Zune to update the phone probably, you need to connect your phone directly on the USB behind your computer. The phone will NOT update properly behind a USB hub. Fully update your phone, see the throw back problem resolve or not. Good Luck.
