Unity array with ESRS and Unisphere access from Jump server

Hi

We have a Unity All Flash array and it needs to be managed by Centralized ESRS gateway.  Also we should be able to remotely access the Unity Unisphere  through a jump server.

So how the connectivity should go ?

From Unity management port 1 to ESRS Gateway is one connectivity and also from Unity management port 2 to the Jump server (should have IP connectivity).  Is that right ?

In the Jump server do we need to install anything to access Unity Unisphere  ?  My understanding is Unity Unisphere server will be there within Unity SP and so by just using a browser from the jump server we will be able to access unisphere for unity ?

Hi stupo

We have provided several links to the setup guides etc.

You need to start reading the docs asap or you will end up with a misconfigured device. Unity is not the same as VNX.

There is only one working mgmt port. There are two, but only one works at any given time, depending on what SP is primary. So you have to connect both the exact same, otherwise when services failover between the SPs you will lose access.

Your mgmt ports should be connected to the network, just like any other device.

After that, if you are trying to setup Centralized SRS, the Unity will talk to the GW (and vice versa) though the normal GW port: 9443.

There are KBs and docs showing you what other ports you need open depending on what you are trying to do.

Unisphere is HTML5 based, so nothing is needed on that jump server or any other machine that will access the Unity. All you need is to make sure the required ports are open for Unisphere access, which again are described in the docs.

Thanks,
