Need Procedure to zero out VMAX drives

Other than using EMC's "certified" PS engagement, does anyone know if there is a script or sym command to zero out the drives on a VMAX, much like the Clariion navi command? Thanks

HI Jayare215,

Welcome to EMC Community.,

Like you said, EMC Certified Data Erasure service services is available since 5772 however, it needs to be run by EMC CE after collaborating with PSE L2. (i am not sure whether it's a free service or not though)

There is no script you can directly run from the box (as a customer). however, i have seen many customer deleting volumes manually using dev id or dev range. It is time consuming but you will have same result eventually. (There was an old symcli command called symerase but this was deprecated a very long time ago)

I still recommend the first method (VTOC all drives) as the service includes some extra checks for Spares health etc..

You can open a case with PSE lab and they will guide you through the rest..
