EMC Product Product ID / Serial Number Format
Hi, I am new to EMC. Please tell me what are Part No. / Product Number / Serial Numbers format used in EMC storage products especially in EMC VNX. And, secondly is there any tool from which we can get part description by putting EMC Part number. Thanks in Advance. Aamir Majeed.

This info can also be found on the EMC services Partner Web.
For the tool you are asking for, I have never heard of anything like that, but.

Part number : is the Hardware component serail number by parts.Have a look at the doc for the compatibility of the part numbers.

Product number : Its the array model number
Serial number : A uniwue id for every single array.
