Which enablers?  If they are for the Block portion of your system, choose Install VNX for Block, not Install VNX OE.  The dual control station check should be skipped.

See this section in the Update Software doc at www.emc.com\vnxsupport

For the Storage System type select:

VNX or VNX for File to download updates for both file and block components, or

VNX for Block to download updates for Block updates only.

Note:

Enablers and language packs reside on the Block side of your VNX system. Select the

VNX for Block option to install these on your VNX or File system.

You can still use USM to upgrade only the block side or add enablers, even with a dual CS system.

i had the same issue the other day when i was trying to upgrade FLARE, i guess it's preventing enabler installation as well. I have not tried to shut on CS down but i don't think it will matter. CS knows it's configured in HA configuration. Give it a shot.

Hello

When you choose "Install Software" in USM you will got following choice:

Install VNX OE

Install VNX for File

Install VNX for Block

You should select "Install VNX for Block" to install enablers

Hello

You can't upgrade NAS code (VNX OE for File) from USM with dual CS

You can do it in CLI.

If you want to upgrade VNX OE for Block or install any block enablers choose "Install VNX for Block" in Softrare Upgrade section.

Be aware you should upgrade VNX OE for File first before you will upgrade VNX OE for Block cause OE for File should be compatible with OE for Block.

Take a look at upgrade procedure froms VNX Procedure Generator for details.

Best regards,

Alex

Why would you want to install 007 when 011 is newer ?

If you do need a version that’s not on the download site you need to contact support direct – asking in the forums doesn’t open a service request

Hello again,

i've open SR to support and my SR was cancelled.

Now i try to update but when i select update For File i have to load *.upg file.

I don't have this file.

On support site there is only 7.0.14.0_emcnas CD1.iso and pkg_7.0.14.0_emcnas.tar.

From where i have to download this .upg file?

Thank you.

Can i add this group- with groupadd?

Look at the instructions for updating software.  You will see that .upg is the folder into which you must download your software.

The name of the download directory must match the version of the

release that you are downloading. For example, if the version that you

are downloading is 7.0.11.1, the download directory must be named

7.0.11.x.upg.
