How to view the specific RDM LUN latency and IOPS statistics ?

Hi All,

I'm currently investigating of VMware Virtual Machine (Exchange Server) with Physical RDM LUN attached for the mailbox server performance issue in my VNX5300 array.

How to view the LUN latency and also the IOPS in realtime ?

I can get the value above from VMware using ESXtop, but not sure how to get the same value for the specific LUN using Unisphere.

thanks.

Do you have Unisphere Analyzer on your array ?

I'm not sure, where to look for that tab or configuration ?

is that paid / licensed feature ?

look under array properties > software, on VNX1 it is a licensed enabled, on VNX2 series it's included.

you will need to purchase it and install this enabler. After it's installed you will need to start "Performance Data logging" under System > Monitoring and Alerts > Statistics for Block

if Analyzer is not licensed on the array, you can still collect the performance logs and the archive files will be encrypted (.naz), you can send these files to EMC support if there is any real performance issue on your side.
