MV/Cluster Enabler and Cluster validation error

Hello,

When customer run Failover Cluster Validation Report, there is an error:

Failed to access sector 34 on disk with identifier {14945fcf-a949-4577-abf5-9e932195f884} from node XXX.

This mean that node can't read the disk.

I will set RO state on mirror according this guide https://support.emc.com/kb/88425

Then maybe validation check will pass?

Anyone with this issue?

Microsoft wants validation report all green or they won't support this cluster configuration.

Thank you.

You can get SPCollects logs and submit it to EMC, the support engineer will help you to check if the storage has some issue or the LUN is PR Reservation enabled.

Don't know what your infrastructure looks like, so only can get you the below EMC KB doc. Let me know if it can help.

We've tested cluster work fine.

There is no errors on cluster log(on Microsoft and on CE console)

Everything work fine- resources are moved normally between nodes.

Everything is perfect, but customer wants run Microsoft Failover Cluster Validation and when run this on Microsoft console this error appear...

Microsoft told to customer that they want all checks green on  Microsoft Failover Cluster Validation tool or they won't support this cluster configuration.

I've just checked SP collects- there is no error.Only normal events.

All nodes(WIndows 2008R2 SP1) are registered with mode "fail over 4"- reservation is enabled on LUNs.

My question is is normal this error to appear in  Microsoft Failover Cluster Validation test when cluster is configured with

MV/Cluster Enabler?

Did you someone has similar issue?

@Kevin

This KB is for VMAX not for VNX.

Failover Cluster solutions that do not have a common shared disk and instead use data replication between nodes may not pass the Cluster Validation storage tests. This is a common configuration in cluster solutions where nodes are stretched across geographic regions. Cluster solutions that do not require external shared storage failover from one node to another are not required to pass the Storage tests in order to be a fully supported solution. Please contact the data replication vendor for any issues related to accessing data on failover.
