Maximums on a VNX VG2 Gateway

We have two VNX VG2 Gateway's, one front-ending a VMAX 40K & one front-ending a VMAX 20K.  I have two questions regarding the maximums on a VNX VG2.

1) What is the maximum number of filesystems that can be defined to a VNX VG2 Gateway?

2) What is the maximum number of hosts that can be connected to one filesystem?

Thanks in advance for your help

You'll want to refer the release notes for the version of DART or VNX for File OE running on your VG2.  For example, In the Celerra Release Notes for DART 6.0.65.2, you'll find your answer in the Technical Notes section (it will be in the same section for any version of DART or VNX for File OE).

In your case:

1) 4096 per VG2, 2048 per datamover

2) Since you didn't specify CIFS or NFS: CIFS - 64,000 concurrent connections; NFS - 64,000 concurrent TCP connections.  It shouldn't matter whether the connectivity is to a single filesystem or multiple - you'll hit the number of concurrent connections sooner than you'll hit the maximum number of open files.

Let us know if that helps!
