NFS Export Expansion

We have an array with 16TB of total storage and during our initial setup, the EMC technician created a 10TB NFS Export for use in our UCS/VMWare environment. This will store all of our Virtual Machines. Well, as some may know, ESXi hosts in a cluster now complain when there are not 2 datastore heart beats for HA. I want to create a new NFS Export mainly to solve this issue, but also to house the ISO images we might need to use in our Virtual Environment. If I create a new NFS Export using some of the available space, will this keep me from being able to expand our first NFS export later? I would not be using the other 6TB for this small, new export, probably a few 100 GB.

No – doesnt matter which order you do that

As long as you have space in the pool can just add it to an existing file system or create a new one

Internal volume manager will figure out how to distribute the data
