look at nested file system, it might/might not work for your use case.

You cannot create a single file system larger than 16 TB

As a “workaround” you can put multiple file systems under one export using nested mount file system (NMFS) or symbolic links / DFS

Each file system would look like a subdirectory then.

Or migrate / HSM larger files with CTA – that would your source file system would still be max 16 TB but contain more data than that.

Hi Rainer

Can you backup nmfs using ndmp? does nmfs gives additional stream for ndmp backup and be run concurrently?

Thanks

the backup of a nmfs fs is backing up the real fs which are building the nmfs, no additional stream. Up to 8 ndmp streams can be run concurrently (depending on the datamover hardware)

No – you need to backup the component file systems individually
