VNxe3150 NFS file size

Hello,

a customer wants to use vSphere 5.5 on an VNXe3150. I know that the max NFS datastore size on VNXe is 16TB. What is the maximum filesize (from VNXe point of view) on a VNXe3150 NFS datastore? I looked already into VNXe Simple Support Matrix but I did not find informations about that.

Hi Robert,

I don't think there is any such restriction for a single file. Until NFS datastore have space in it, single file size can go upto 16TB as well. But I believe VMDK size limitation of VMWare has 2TB restriction.

ESXi 5.5 supports VMDKs up to 62TB, so far greater than the 16TB VNXe maximum.

VMware KB: Support for virtual machine disks larger than 2 TB in VMware ESXi 5.5
