VPLEX/VE Trial Version - Network requirements

Hello Community,

I've a question about the VPLEX/VE Trial Version.

How many IP-Addresses are required?

On each Site is one VNXe 3200 Storage Array (4-Ports/SP) as backend Storage.

I  found the configuration worksheet and the Getting Started Guide of the VPLEX ...

Is there any other Information/document available?

Thanks in Advance!

Best Regards,

Martin

Martin,

Your best best is to pull down the SolVe Desktop (Windows application) to generate the procedure for doing the install.  Based on what you have here though, you'll need one IP address per VPLEX cluster and 2 IP addresses per VNXe (one per SP).

Hello Anurag,

I found this information about the vDirector, each vDirectory has 10 virtual network adapters ...

"A VPLEX/VE Trial vDirector has 10 virtual network adapters."

We plan to deploy a VPLEX/VE with VNXe for backend Storage.

We use iscsi for storage traffic. My questions is ;

How many IP-Addresses are required for Frontend/Backend Traffic for the VPLEX and the connection between two sites (VPLEX WAN traffic). We'll separate this traffic by VLAN (e.g. VLAN for Frontend, VLAN for backend etc.)

Kind Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

It looks like you were trying to deploy the VPLEX/VE at those time.

I'm trying to do it nowadays. Unfortunately, the image of VPLEX/VE TRIAL is no more available to download from almost the whole internet

I had obtained only the full version of VPLEX VE which required a license to deploy&configure&run.

Please check do you still have those binaries of VPLEX/VE trial, and you are agreeing to share it with me?

Hi Ankur,

You're right, vplex/ve has reached its EOL in 2016. But the core/fundamental features didn't change since that time. Am I right?

I'm planning to use it just for SAVE educational purposes.

As a result of VPLEX/VE EOL , there is no more chance to download its TRIAL version from official DELL sources. Only FULL VPLEX/VE is available there, but this one requires the license generated by EMC/DELL to use it.

If you have an image of VPLEX/VE_TRIAL please share it.
