Moving SD card from one piece of hardware to another
Hi.
Im a Lazy Admin.
I have this old M805 Opeteron server, running ESXi 5.1 on an internal 1gig SD card.
Would it be possible to move this card (and all its wonderful configuration) to a new r715 server i just installed in the rack?
It would save me alot of time, and since im a Lazy Admin, i prefer that to having to work for it.

Well i decided to test it out.
And it works just fine!!
The only thing is that, the network cards have to be remapped to their correct vswitches, since they have another mac, vsphere automagically generates new vmnics for them.
All in all a smooth process that carves.. 2-3 hours of a hardware configuration change.
