Open your internet explorer

Click Tools--Internet Options
Click Settings(under temporary Internet files)---View objects
Locate flsh/shockwave and delete it ,click ok then set security and privacy to medium then redownload flash from the macromedia website.

what exactly is happening when you try to download flash?   (can you quote the exact error messages, if any, that you're getting?)

have you tried the TEST flash (and shockwave) player(s) page:
this is supposed to test the players, and install/update them as necessary.

the official macromedia flash download is at

also, what if you try to download flash from another location, such as

by the way, there's also a version of flash for netscape/firefox, if you're running those:

one problem might be that adobe bought macromedia and the newest version 8 is messed up

they might have it fixed in a month or so

I have had the same problem with flash player also.  When I download it it says it was installed but when I go to a site like cbs.com/bb7 it tells me I need to download flash player to view the web page.  Any ideas.  This is frustrating.

I cant dowload the new Flash player, and i think i know why.
My dad has the Trend Micro PC-cillian Internet Security 2007 program on our computer and i think that its blocking it from downloading.
I took some advise in which Jamez Kann stated to Open your internet explorer, Click Tools--Internet Options, Click Settings(under temporary Internet files)---View objects, Locate flsh/shockwave and delete it ,click ok then set security and privacy to medium then redownload flash from the macromedia website.
But when i went into those downloaded files, there wasnt the file for the flash player.

So you can see where my confusion is..

If anyone can help me.. it would mean a great deal to me

Thanks.

Perhaps that would be better answered by the folks at the Adobe Flash Forum:
