Comodo incompatibility issues
It seems that Comodo found the bug in V. 3.8.64739.471 that was causing users to drop their antispyware apps, specifically Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper, or revert to Comodo old version 3.5. According to Egemen, Comodo´administrator, in reply # 55, Comodo will release a new update this week to fix the problem. I hope.

So if any of you updated to 3.8 and thought your PC was infected, it was probably an incompatibility issue due to CIS and your antispyware.
Hope it helps

Hernan, I am grateful for your input. This board needs more contributors.
As for the topic of incompatabilities, it amazes me that all of my resident defenses play so well together:
Nod32 v2.7
BOClean v4.27
CIS v3.8.x
Windows Defender v1.1x
WinPatrol Plus v15.9.x
Not to mention all my on-demand, browser, and passive defenses, as well:
a-squared anti-malware v4.x
MBAM v1.34
SAS v4.x
SpywareBlaster v4.1
Spybot S&D v1.6.2
HostsMan v3.1.55 (MVPS Hosts file)
Web of Trust (WOT) v9.x
OpenDNS
ERUNT (registry backup)

What has worked for me on this system:
Residents
On demand scanners and immunization ( passive defenses )
I have tried Host files protection but here the Internet service is so slow that sometime is annoying to wait for the list to be checked when one changes from one web page to another, so I hope that SS, Win Patrol, Avast, and WOT will do their job and protect my PC and my local host, anyway I have a backup just in case.
Once a month or If I felt paranoid I run an ONLine scanner to be sure, One Live Care, BitDefender, or Kaspersky have gotten me out of doubt. I have also used "Virus Total" to check a file to make sure it is OK. Also once a month clean my PC ( not with soap and watter, mind you ), check disk for errors, and defrag. And above all, back up all my important folders and files.
This is what I tell most of my friends and family to do, but unfortunately they do not have time or are too lazy to do it, so when something goes wrong with their PCs, I end up one weekend at their home doing it for them. At least I get a free dinner.:emotion-5:
