Download and run HiJackThis; v 1.98.2. Then move it to it's own folder, out of the temporary downloads folder. Run it, then click "Scan", the "Save log". Copy/paste the text that comes up, and post it back. Don't 'fix' anything just yet, alot of what it reports is 'good', then close the HiJackThis window.
We'll use this to 'see' what's starting on your computer, so we can decide how best to approach a solution.
There's a few 'orphaned' entries, but nothing stood out as a re-infector. Did you notice that you accidentally cut the top portion of the log off, so i'll assume it not the 1.97.7 version; version 1.98.2 picks up a few more problems.
If you want to change the home page for your browser, try this first:
1) First go to the web page, that you want to make your home page; EarthLink.
2) From within "Internet Explorer" use "Tools | Internet Options... | General | Use Current | Ok".
If it doesn't work, we'll use HJT to remove the dell home page.

Let's move
HiJackThis into it's own folder, out of the temporary downloads folder.
That way, when the 'temp' folder gets flushed, we won't have to download HJT again, nor loose the backups it creates.
Check "
Add/Remove programs" for anything unwanted, and remove what you find, from there. Just be careful not to remove any system software, or hot-fixes.
Run
HiJackThis, check (tick) these entry(s):

Very possible. I don't see any trojans right off, but that's a pretty big log!
You might first check "Event Viewer" under "System" and "Applications", and see if any warnings or errors are being reported about the time your having the disconnects.

Very possible. I don't see any trojans right off, but that's a pretty big log!
You might first check "Event Viewer" under "System" and "Applications", and see if any warnings or errors are being reported about the time your having the disconnects.
