Guinine, you will need to either post back in your original thread or provide information about the problem here in the new one in order to get additional help with the error message.  At this point, no one reading this thread has enough information to offer any kind of help.

If you can post at least the error message itself, and what you were doing with the computer when it came up, the helpful members of the forum will be sure to chime in with suggestions for you. ;)

Ok so my sister got tired of her pc cause every time she restarted it she gets this message on her desktop Error loading c:\windows\system32\dcravsql.dll and Error loading c:\windows\system32\dqldbgxe.dll.  She gave me the pc for keeps but if I can solve her problem then I like to give it back.  I can get online with it and scan it and I got rid of all the spyware and virisus she had on it.  Am I posting this in the right palce?  Oh and this is not the pc with the problem.  Please help me.

Thanks

Guinie

Good news is your fix is fairly simple,

So basically we have a few different options here, the easiest of which is to use the MSCONFIG tool to remove the items from the start up.  To use the MSCONFIG tool you just go to start, then run, in the "open with" box that pops up type msconfig and press enter or click ok.

The system configuration box will populate, go to the start up tab, and locate the problem applications and uncheck the box to them, then click ok.  Your computer will restart, and if you found the right programs you will not get the errors, if you found the wrong one the program you picked just wont start when the computer starts.

On the reboot you will get a windows information message that says something to the effect of you are using the system configuration utility to make changes to your system, just click to not show this message again, and click ok then close the utility.

Furthermore, the same can be done in the actual windows registry. (this is much more dangerous if you delete the wrong files, DO NOT DELETE FILES other then those specified in the directory below)

go to start, then run, in the "open with" box that pops up type regedit and press enter or click ok.

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE » software » Microsoft » windows » current version » run

the start up applications will be listed similarly to the way they are listed in the MSCONFIG tool, Just click on the bad start up programs and delete them.  Again if you delete the wrong file here, it is much harder to fix,  the easiest method to explain would be to reinstall the program.

Good luck

Do not uncheck anything on Startup tab in msconfig that's related to your firewall or antiviral program.

Googling doesn't find anything about those .dll files (except this thread) so that suggests you may still have some malware on the system.

Can you get to the desktop even though you get those errors? If you can, you may want the experts in the HiJackThis forum to look at what's on your system.  Go to the HJT forum and click the red link. Read all the FAQs and instructions. Then download and run HiJack This on your sister's PC. Post the entire HJT log on the HJT forum for the experts to review and help you remove anything that might be causing trouble.

Moving this to the HJT section so the experts there can get the full picture. :D

Please click here to open a new window which will provide you the information on how to post a HijackThis report.

Thanks and good luck!
