Name three accredited on-line malware universities in either North America or Western Europe.  And I mean accredited by some recognized government agency, not by you or your associates.

"You also have a bad feeling towards any of us who help, well if we are doing so bad why dont you step in, we give up a lot of our time to help those with Malware issues as Midnight said," I believe in one of my posts I said you were doing a good job. I just don't buy into your philosophy. And by wng_z3r0 am not qualified to join even if I wanted to.

Now then, I suppose you are mad at people who find ways around the shareware programs to use them indefinately? Well, that of coure is wrong. But, I see no problem with a person using a program to help clean his computer; or a helper recommending said program. The exposure can only be beneficial to the company.

I guess that leaves me out, since I am retired and at this time I do not own a web site.  That I worked in the software industry since 1967 is irrevelant.  And the training I got in the US Army, Bucks County Community College, Philadelphia University, Villanova University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, or LaSalle Univedrsity is irrevelent.

Secondary schools where I live are accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  Accreditation insures that the school’s graduates meet some standard of expertise and curricula; otherwise what you have is a diploma that looks nice on the wall but is otherwise useless.  Those three web sites are like no university I have ever seen/attended, no classes, no books, no teaches and no standards.  Basically, as I see it, it is what ever you want it to be.

To assume that there are no standards is utterly rediculous. In fact, some universities have EXTREMELY strict standards...

First, you have to go through all the material- So yes, there are the equivalent of "books" online
Then, you do practice logs where you get 1 on 1 training with a teacher --- so yes there are teachers too! Once you get beyond that, you have to "check" your proposed fix with a teacher before you post to a victim. Eventually, you receive the privilige to post directly to victims...

And as far as standards go, each university sets it's own standards. It is then up to ASAP to determine if those standards meet the requirements.

Why would Microsoft/Novell/Cisco make such a school? Most of this training involves HIJACKTHIS logs, and NOT Norton Antivirus/Lavasoft adaware etc...

It makes no sense for a company to make such a university for a program they didn't create.

To Bertha2 - I never said government schools, I said accredited school, and accredited means accredited by either the government or a quasi-government agency.  There are many accredited on-line university.  In further thinking about this I take note that Microsoft, Novell, Veritas, Cisco, and others do have training programs and certifications, but neither Symantec nor McAfee do.  Inquiring minds are curious, why is that?

I don't understand what any COUNTRY has to do with this. ASAP is not related to any particular country. ASAP sets it's own rules, and it decides which universities are acceptable. A government has nothing to do with this... And take private Colleges for example. Who regulates them? What government accredits them?

And the thing is, ASAP membership is NOT required ANYWHERE to post replies as far as I know. I don't know of any website where ASAP membership is a requirement.

I will name 3 online universites that I personally recommend:
1. forum.malwareremoval.com
2. forums.tomcoyote.org
3. spywarewarrior.com

I am not trying to "win" this argument... You obviously have questions/concerns about ASAP, and we are doing the best we can to answer them. To say you "give up" does nothing to help you. I am not trying to kick a dog when it's lying down, but if you have concerns, you should feel free to express them.

What I think all of you responders should do the next time something like this gets posted, as it most likely will, is to simply ignore this person or others like him, unless you like argue or try to convince someone whose mind is set in stone. I have glanced at enough of the threads started by this person in the last few months to realize that he really doesn't have anything important or helpful to say.

What is happening for sure is there are people here and on other forums who invest a LOT of their time and sometimes their mental and emotional energy to learn how to analyze logs and help people, who for the most part, try to surf the Web without protection, or who don't update often enough. This is a volunteer effort and you guys collectively have set the standards and gone  through the training, so that you will be able to do the analysis without "killing the patient". For someone who could probably do likewise instead of posting snide and whiny remarks just irritates the heck out of me. Just my .02 cent opinion

He has been offered and shown the requirements to enroll in a training program numerous times. He has to date not done this, just starts a thread, in a HJT forum where there is NOTHING but logs, to bait people, target people, and think he is getting under our skin which he doesn't.

Dalem, you have been around these forums long enough to know this is a loose loose proposition with msgale. You say white, he says black. You say black, HE EDITS HIS POST TO SAY WHITE.

My suggestion at this point is to fax Dell, like msgale did, and let them know how specific people are being targeted by this individual and harassed because of an affiliation with an alliance that does nothing but good.

I think if Dell receives some faxes about this baiting, harassing, and disruption in this forum they might do something. As it stands now Dell only knows msgale's POV at this point.

Just my 2 cents

That is a Best Idea I have ever heard, Please FAX Dell, and as an example include this thread as an example of my transgressions, and lets see what they have to say.  I await their response.  But until then, I will continue to post when I think it is appropriate.  I post here because here is where the problems lie.  Somehow on all other threads, individuals get help without special rules.  Again I say read the second response to my question.  Of the forty-three items on this thread, how many responses are to my question?  I noticed that wng_z3r0, a proud member of A-SAP has posted eight time on all Dell forms, and all eight posts were directed at me, none to help any users.  I am really unhappy/disappointed/discussed, you have your own special HiJackthis form, and you have special rules about who can post on a thread, now you also want to control what can be said on a new thread.  I never interfered on a thread you control, I never told anyone not to follow your instructions, what more is it that you want?  P. S.  Here is Dell’s FAX number 1-512-283-6161 have blast.
