Help with Viruses and Anti Virus programs on my computer!!!

So I was speaking with a Dell tech earlier actually 2 of them. I was told by one that I had too many antivirus programs on my computer. I have System Mechanic Pro, Microsoft essentials and Malwarebytes. Then another tech told me my computer has viruses and that every since I put the other antivirus programs on my computer it hasn't been protected. Well of course I'm not gonna pay Dell those high fees for their one time fix or their one year of service because frankly I feel they are a rip off. I mean come on if someone is going to pay over $200 dollars for their computer to get help in case it get's infected then they should have one year of UNLIMITED service and not "4 incidents". That's just stupid and a rip off. Anyway I was wondering if anybody could tell me how I could fix my computer myself or what is the tool Dell uses to fix it?

Yes, we can do that. We can also send you to a forum where you can get step-by-step help by trained analysts for free.

First, a bit more info from you, please.

What type of symptoms are you experiencing -- slowdowns? redirects? unwanted ad popups?

You did not mention what operating system you are running. If you are using XP, Vista, or Windows 7, see if you can run this scan:

Download Security Check by screen317 and save it to your Desktop: here or here

  • Run Security Check
  • Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the command window.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; close Notepad. We will need this log, too, so remember where you've saved it!

If one of your security applications (e.g., third-party firewall) requests permission to allow DIG.EXE access the Internet, allow it to do so.

Based on what that shows, we'll know what step to take next.

Its only my suggestion. Uninstall System Mechanic Pro and install Avast or AVG antivirus instead of that and run a check all drives of your computer. Maybe you find your computer better after it.
