Invalid Syntax Erroe On Internet Explorer
I posted this in the Windows XP forum, but was wondering if anyone here would have any ideas....
Last Mon. everything was fine with my computer, everything worked. The next day, I went to log on to the internet, and I could get a connection with my ISP, but I.E. was giving me Invalid Syntax Errors on EVERY page I tried to visit. Sometimes it will load the page, then switch over to the error page, other times the page won't even load, it just goes to the error page. I am using MSN Explorer right now to access the internet, but REALLY want I.E. back.
I talked to my ISP support the last 2 days and tried everything they suggested. Tried clearing the cache and cookies, making sure the proxy server boxes were unchecked. Even settin it so I am notified every time a cookie tried to get on the hard drive. Tried repairing it plenty of times, have even tried to just run the ie6setup.exe again to see if it would over ride the I.E.. I have on my system, but it says I already have a newer version on my system, and won't continue to install..... and have ran every spyware possible, from Ad Aware to CWS Shredder, to HiJackThis.... NOTHING has helped so far.
My ISP has given up and suggested that I talk to Microsoft about it, but seeing that they won't ever listen to your prob. until you fork over $35, that was the last route I wanted to go... I was hoping maybe someone on here could give me a hand... I wouldn't think it would be THAT big of a deal to fix, because all in all, my computer runs fine, except connecting to sites on I.E. I could get used to using another browser, but not ready to give up yet..... If ANYONE can offer me ANY help, please do.... Thanks in advance,
Matt

Try the following:
1) Resetting IE's options back to their defaults.
2) Try entering an ip.address instead of text in the address field; 143.166.83.21 .
3) Post up a HiJackThis log for review; for instructions see the post pinned at the top of this forum.
Mike.
