Mouse cursor moves to the bottom right of the screen and right clicks repeatedly

Hi,

I have a really annoying virus (I think) that takes control of my mouse cursor and moves it to the lower right of the screen and right clicks for about 20 to 30 seconds.  The problem is intermittent, occurring about once or twice a day.

I've used a version of Symantec Antivirus and that located a Trojan dropper which it quarantined and allowed me to delete.  Both Panda antivirus and its online scanning service could not locate a virus on my system.

Another computer that I use and may have infected had the Trojan dropper and a Run.auto threat (I can't remember the exact spelling).  This second system did not have the mouse control problem.

I reinstalled Windows and formatted all but one of the partitions on my hard drive.  To begin with this appeared to work but after a few days the problem returned.

Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Baydr

Do you still get that problem if you switch to another mouse?

Thanks for replying,

The computer giving me the problem is a laptop and the mouse is the touchpad.  I've connected a USB mouse and rebooted and there were there was no 'right clicking'.  I then detached the USB mouse and rebooted again and this time there was no right clicking either.

Regards

Update the touchpad driver, which can be found on the Dell Support website. The problem may be dust/dirt stuck underneath the touchpad's mouse buttons or the contacts to the buttons may simply be worn. Get yourself a can of compressed air and, keeping it upright, try to clean underneath the touchpad buttons. If all else fails, disable the touchpad in Device Manager, and use an external mouse.
