PROBLEM WITH TREND MICRO INTERNET SECURITY 2008 PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Ever since I upgraded from PC Cillan 2007 to Trend Micro Internet Security 2008, I keep getting this stupid windows error message "Manages All Components of Trend Micro has stopped Working".  I am so frustrated with this product. I have contacted Trend Micro support I dont know how many times. I have removed all other spyware software that I had on my laptop, and yes I used the correct tools to remove them. They are completely off of my computer. I have uninstalled trend micro and reinstalled i dont know how many times. trend micro had me download a .dll patch file because they thought I had a corrupted .dll file. That did not correct the problem either. Nothing has worked. I have a 3 user license and I have this installed on a HP desktop computer in my home running the same vista home premium 32-bit OS. I dont have this problem on that computer, only on my laptop, I am so furious, I have tried everything.  The message pops up on my laptop randomly, I can be working or the computer can be at an idle state. The only other thing I know that may the problem is the version of the software. I have Trend Micro Internet Security for Vista 32-bit home premium, which is version 16.1.  I noticed a Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 for Dell on their website, I'm not sure what the difference is between the two but the Trend Micro tech wasnt sure if it made a difference or not so, I dont know. IF ANYONE HAS A SOLUTION, PLEASE HELP!  I AM ABOUT READY TO GET RID OF TREND MICRO!!  Here is the error log below....

6/1/2008 10:29 PM Application Error Faulting application SfCtlCom.exe, version 16.10.0.1079, time stamp 0x47c2ac0a, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00066ec4, process id 0xb64, application start time 0x01c8c41117b32475.

Are you sure this is the version you have.  I cannot find 16.1 listed on their website.

Yes I am positive, when you go to the trend micro website, click support and then downloads. Click on Trend Micro Internet security 2008 and it will show you the two available downloads and the version number. I have the first one on the list, for vista 32-bit home premium version 16.1

Not sure if this matters, but the version you have is listed under desktops, so maybe it does not support laptops.

or this could be the cause

1. How would I know if the Trend Micro Internet Security I have can work with Microsoft Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 and Windows XP with Service Pack 3?

If you are using version 16.0 of Trend Micro Internet Security, you will have issues with Microsoft Vista SP1 and Windows XP with Service Pack 3. To avoid getting these issues, version 16.05 or higher of Trend Micro Internet Security must be installed. Click on this link to check the version you have installed on your computer.

Hmmmm, see I kept telling the trend micro tech support that I thought I had the incorrect version. They acted like they didnt know or that it was alright.  The thing is, my desktop and my laptop do not have service pack 1 or 2 I dont think. It just says Microsoft Windows Version 6.0 (Build 6000) nothing about service pack 1 or 2.  I dont know, I dont understand why the desktop does not have this issue but the laptop does. They both have the same OS build and version.
