Panda Antivirus Scans

Good grief....a two step sign in process now??   Guess I should visit more often! :Hmm:

Anyway, I do my security products scans about once a week. I have the free "Panda Protection" version 18.01.00. I noticed this morning that the quick scan option appears to be no long available on Panda Anti-Virus, just the full scan. I did not knowingly upgrade or change anything with this product in spite of all the nagging. Has anyone else who uses this program noticed this change. In a related change, I plan to install MB3 on my older computer today, see how it goes, and probably install it on the primary with the lifetime license, since you guys seem to have had good luck with it.

1) I'm not sure I always run signed-in to my Panda account... hmm...

2) If a scan option (e.g., QuickScan) has disappeared, be sure that the program didn't automatically
"update itself" to a newer version.  ("Hamburger icon" = Settings ; About Panda Antivirus).   By the way, the Panda "Quick" scan is called the [Recommended] Critical Areas scan.

3) How much RAM do you have on your older computer?   If only 1 GB (or less), I think you might be better-off sticking to MB 2.x.   I believes MB3 runs better with 2 GB (or more)

4) I no longer do weekly/monthly security scans on protection that runs continually in real-time (e.g., anti-virus)... I only do a full scan when I update the program to a new version (e.g., from Panda 18.01 to 18.02).   If you have the time and don't mind doing it frequently, that's certainly your call.

Did you mean a two-step sign in process here on Dell's forum? If that's what you meant, you should only see that once, and never again.  However, if you do see that two-step process again, post a new thread in this forum so it can be handled...

Unfortunately I just uninstalled my recent 3 month trial of Panda Free AV (Dome version, 18.0.5 I think) so I can't add much to the discussion. The quick scan was working when I last used it a few days ago, prior to uninstalling it.

I would add that I also rarely run routine manual/scheduled scans by any real-time protection, when all is well with a system.

Take note:   Just as a heads-up, I've noticed that Panda is automatically updating itself (on at least some systems) to Dome version 18.6...

It presents itself as an "upgrade that needs to be applied" If I remember correctly, the only other option is "LATER".

Went ahead and let it install on the older, unsecure machine with Vista and IE9, seems to be OK. Will allow it on the primary machine pretty soon.
