Quarantined files

I ran my Norton Antivirus and the following files were targeted as a threat but not deleted from my system:

ggduie.dll
tboeara.dll
tmo.dll
xkxsu.dll

Can I delete these from my system32 directory?  The threatname is adware.purityscan.

Thanks.

Did nortons quarentine these files or just warn you about them?

Deleting certain dll files may not be the best approach. Some may be signs of infection, while others may be shared by some parts of the operating system. The more inportant thing would be to find out what created those dll's in the first place.

Is this warning new?

I agree, that is why I didn't manually delete them from my system.  I think Norton only warned me,   My ONLY popup problem is from "outerinfo".  I get all kinds of popups from them and I can't get it to stop.

Review this information:

http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.purityscan.html

then download and run the PurityScan uninstaller in the link.

Then I would suggest if you have further problems that you

Go here and download Hijackthis

http://dsvs.org/5/HijackThis.exe

Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\\HJT\\, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents AT THE LINK BELOW

Please do not be tempted to "fix" on your own. Hijackthis is a very powerful tool, if used incorrectly can cause system problems

In the purity scan link it states the following:

If you do not see any icon for "OIN" or "(program) by OIN" in Add / Remove Programs, please download our stand-alone uninstaller from http://www.outerinfo.com/OiUninstaller.exe

I have a program by OIN in my add or remove programs, so should I not download this uninstaller?
