Yes, I do have both Microsoft Security Essentials and Trend Micro.

 I disabled the TrendMicro, is it necessary to uninstall it?

The Adobe did need updating which I did.

Bugbatter,

Okay,  I turned System Restore on and off , took care of updates

and everthing appears to be doing fine.

I really want to thank you for all the help, your instructions

were excellent and you never yelled!
