Trojan-Exploit-byteverify: Can't delete or clean. How to remove?

Today McAfee virus scan found the Trojan "Exploit-byteverity".  However, the McAfee program won't let me delete or clean it.  How do I remove it.  There must be a manual way. I have removed XP's auto system restore.  Thank you

Trojan Exploit ByteVerify indicates that a Java applet was found on your PC, containing the exploit code.  As long as you've been installing all critical Windows updates for your PC, your PC will be immune from the effects of this exploit code.  More specifically, it's the 816093 Microsoft VM Security Update package (as described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-011), which upgrades the Microsoft VM to version 5.00.3810.

Presumably, if you've replaced the Microsoft Virtual Machine by Sun's JAVA (which is something that HAS to be done eventually, as Microsoft will not be supporting its VM after 31 Dec 2007 ), you're also protected from this vulnerability.

I realize this will not help you remove the "warning message" / java applet, but hopefully, it will give you some peace of mind that you are (or can be) safe from its effects.

Go to control panel, double click on the Java control panel and clear the java cache. This should remove the infected files.
