Unable to Update Security Software error 80071AA7

Hi,

I'm running Windows Vista  Home Premium SP2. When using the Windows update I repeatedly get error message 80071AA7, this has been going on for two months. Checking the microsoft support forums I have compiled the following plan:

1. Download/run the MSRT manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

2. then run http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm

3. Followed by running Hijack This

3. I was then going to reboot disabling all third party applications

4. Then reset Windows update using the following Microsoft fix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

5. Followed by crossing my fingers!

I have completed steps 1 to 3 but I'm not technical enough to interpret the log file and wondered if someone could check through and see if there's anything I should worry about. Also if anyone is familar with this problem above I'd appreciate any advise as to whether I'm on the right track.
