computer doesn't boot, possible virus!

Question

Hello my name is Medina. My system is inspiron 1525. Virus popped up as Mal Hafrm i might be off with the letters not too sure of the name. This has happened to me before i did halt internet traffic for several minutes and signed back up no problems. It happened to me again i shut my computer off cause i was going away, when i came back and turned it on it told me that it was having a problem runing normaly to use the recommended start up which i did and nothing the white pointer shows up on a black screen but that's about it. i turned it off and tried to start up normally, same thing happend. its just very confusing with the viruses because i don't know how to clean them. there's nothing that tells you to clean the virus or delete it, something that would clear it. Any help to get me up and running would be great, thanks in advance.     8/31/09   i tried repair your computer, safe mode, last known good configuratrion, all leading up to the same screen. the microsoft corporation loading sign then the blank screen with the white pointer. i tried last known good configuration again and after the blank screen i got a message saying . . . . stop c0000102 corrupt file. the file or directory windows/system321/en-us/ntdll.mui is corrupt and unreadable please run the chkdsk utility. how do i go about this? and is it too late to pull out all my information from my system, files,pictures,songs,etc. ?
