Vostro 3670, WOL (Wake on Lan) in S5 (power off) state?

Hi team,

Kindly help check if we can do WOL with Vostro and Optiplex in S4, S5 state ?

I saw 2 articles in dell website but they make me confuse if it's ok for S4,S5.

https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln305365/how-to-setup-wake-on-lan-wol-on-your-dell-system?lang=en

https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln307243/newer-dell-system-models-will-not-wake-on-lan-with-deep-sleep-control-set-to-s5-in-the-windows?lang=en

BTW, i'm using windows 10

Thanks

did you study WOL first, all the requirements.?

even the LAN , wake up packets (signals) that must be sent.?

read the wiki first. see the word magic?, read that first and decide if this is your game.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake-on-LAN

then turn it on IN BIOS next.

then last turn all that on in windows.10 (need correct drivers, for Network card/chip/device for sure....)

and is also part of power controls. all that.

what is your goal, to wake it up 10 feet away , or from your subdomain or from 12,000 miles away?

all that matters , and is goal first. state the goal. why I don't need; just end to end,  usage.

to go out side the local domain.

you'd need full time server or application that takes outside access (www) and then generates the magic packet locally.  this would work like my NVR camera server here, only custom made for wake on lan magic.

this can be done.
