@DELL-Jesse L  Thanks for posting this.  But with respect to the Docking Station Compatibility Guide PDF linked in that article (direct link here), I reported some errors to @DELL-Chris M a while back, who passed them on to the Documentation team and received confirmation that the error reports were accurate, but I see that they still haven't been corrected after months.  Specifically:

  • The XPS 13 7390 and 7390 2-in-1 incorrectly claim that the WD19 130W is not supported.  It is, because the XPS 13 models only require 45W, and the WD19 130W can supply up to 90W.  Literally the only difference between the WD19 130W and WD19 180W, which IS listed as supported for those systems, is the power supply and the result that the WD19 180W can supply up to 130W to the attached system instead of 90W.
  • The XPS 15 9530 is mentioned even though that model doesn't have a USB-C/TB3 port at all.  Meanwhile, its successor the XPS 15 9550, which was Dell's first XPS 15 with a USB-C/TB3 model, isn't mentioned at all.  However, the compatibility information for the XPS 15 9530 is actually correct for the XPS 15 9550, so I suspect someone just typed "9530" when they meant to write "9550".

Any chance you might be able to get those errors corrected?  USB-C/TB3 are already somewhat confusing given the number of optional capabilities and such, so it obviously becomes even more difficult for consumers when even official compatibility documentation provided by the vendor is inaccurate.

Hey jphughan,

Chris did mention that he tried to get this updated. I have sent this information for correction to Sreejith, one of our L3's. Thanks for letting us know.
