Vostro 3590 Memory Upgrade - 8gb +

Dear All,

Just purchased 2 Dell Vostro 3590 (10th Gen i7, 8GB RAM, 512GBNVMe SSD).

They have 1 SoDIMM with 8GB (DDR4 2666MHz). I went on the Crucial website and purchased another additional 16GB SODIMM to add to one of the laptop, since the Crucial finder says that the laptop can have a maximum of 32GB RAM.

I made sure to get the same speed and specs as the memory installed. Unfortunately, it doesn't work! I even took out the 8GB, just to install the single 16GB, and no boot. Not even the Dell logo screen.

Is there a way of adding over 16GB of RAM, since the Dell spec sheet says that's the maximum allowed. Crucial have said there is a way of getting up to 32GB. Also, do you have installed matched pairs, ie 2 x 8gb, or 2 x16GB. Is there a way of adding 1 x 8GB and 1 x 16GB?

Thanks

Did you use the memory configurator to order?
