VxRAIL one-click upgrade for vSphere Standard (fw 4.7)

Hi all,

Does anyone know already how the new 'One-Click upgrade' for vSphere Standard will work, coming in firmware 4.7 for VxRAIL (GA, Q4 2018)

I mean from a technical/user experience, how will this actually work? Is it the same experience as DRS in vSphere Enterprise+ ?

Thanks for the feedback.

Kind regards,

Laurent

The 4.7.000 training covers this feature.

In a nutshell, the upgrade wizard will inspect the vSphere license and check whether DRS is enabled or not.

If DRS is NOT enabled, we now look to see if the license supports DRS. If the license does NOT support DRS, we prompt the user if they want to use a Temp vSpehre Enterprise License.  IF they choose YES, then we install a temp lic, enable DRS and allow the upgrade to proceed.

After the upgrade is complete, we remove the temp lic and return the system back to previous state.
