Another Alienware 17-R2 user simply reinstalled the Windows 7/8.1 Dell Creative Malcolm chip+Recon3Di AP driver and it fixed his audio issue. Give it a shot and post back with the results.
Chris, Wrong driver, that's for Windows 7/8 and is months old. Creative has already posted on their web site that the Recon3D series will not get driver until sometime mid/late August. So we have to wait for now.

Agreed, it is the previous operating system driver, but it did fix their issues on Windows 10.
