Cannot install latest Goodix Fingerprint driver

Currently I'm having the "Goodix Fingerprint Driver 2.1.31.900" installed (according to appwiz.cpl).

I want to install the current version of the driver (3.31.30.110, A08 from 26.05.2020). I deinstall the old driver, remove the Goodix Fingerprint device from device manager (including drivers), download and install the 3.31.30.110 driver from my Dell Support Page. The 3.31.30.110 installer finished successfully and - my system reports the 2.1.31.900 driver all over again.

How is this possible (since the old driver is deleted I'm installing the new driver)? How can I install the latest driver?

I have a Dell XPS 13 9380

Same issue. It also seemed to be causing login failures. Can't believe dell isn't solving this.

Hello, have they solved the issue for you? I've been having the same issue, and you seemed to be the only other person having the same problem. Dell have refusing to answer since my warranty ended last month...

My model is Inspiron 15 Gaming 7577. I had no idea why neither product page nor Support Assist include the fingerprint sensor driver. I had to install it manually but got the same issue.

Then I found the search results of "Goodix Fingerprint Sensor Driver" are actually different drivers even they all have the same title. They are not integrated pack so they are compatible to different models.

For example, at the time I search "Goodix Fingerprint Sensor Driver", the file name of the first result is Goodix-Fingerprint-Sensor-Driver_N7N2X_WIN64_3.10.30.110_A04_03.EXE, while the fifth one is Goodix-GF3208-Fingerprint-Sensor-Driver_XGMK5_WIN64_1.0.33.800_A05.EXE. When I click "Enter Details" on the top and input my model/OS, it shows the first one is not compatible but the fifth is good.

My conclusion: get ready to do trial and error

Hey guys. I fixed my problem on my dell Inspiron 5570 in a few minutes. Don't know if you still have issues on that subject, but the dell page that helped me solving it is

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/pt-br/000135146/inspiron-vostro-notebooks-with-goodix-fingerprint-sensor-cannot-setup-a-windows-hello-fingerprint

Maybe it helps you too. It`s in portuguese, but you can use the translator.
