I have the same error message: "Sorry. an error occurred while extracting image file VTRMMA04_Win10x64ROW_home.iso. Please check the file and try again."
It doesnt not damage my flash drive though, but I am still not able to recover windows on my laptop.
Did the same to me but for a different file. Managed to fix my "new" 2gb drive and return it to 15gig using bootice (Google your problem and add the word bootice for instructions) but then I also had to use the diskpart command in command prompt to assign a letter to the drive as my f drive dissapeared

The problem is that the flash drive is counterfeit.
It says its 8 gigs or more but its actually a 2 gig drive that has firmware that tells windows something else.
