How do I stop repeated Dell Update messages?
I uninstalled Dell Support Center a long time ago, but I still get Dell Update messages popping up in the system tray area from time to time (like every day, several times a day, this past week, and staring me in the face right now). Invariably, if I try to allow whatever it is to install the updates, they fail, without specifying why (which is another issue, but secondary for now), and so the message keeps popping up. I want to prevent these automatic updates from Dell entirely, and just periodically check for updates on my own, but the instructions I found in this forum for preventing updates all refer to either removing the Support Center program—which, as I said, I removed long ago—or disabling the sprtcmd service, which is not running. The only Dell service that I see running is Dell Client Management Services. Will stopping that prevent these Dell Update messages, or will that just stop my computer from functioning? (Or neither?) If not, any other suggestions for stopping these annoying messages?

on my laptop I set Dell Client Management Services to manual and never seen a popup.
by setting the service to manual you can still run dell update if you want or need to.

Thanks. I will do that. I just wasn't sure whether or not turning it off would cause problems, which is why I hadn't tried it.
