Safe mode is a startup setting that can help you troubleshoot problems on your PC. Here are some ways to get to it. Get to safe mode from Settings: 1.Open Recovery settings. To open the settings manually, select Start Windows logo Start button > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Update & Security Circular arrows Sync icon > Recovery. 2.Under Advanced startup, select Restart now. 3.After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. You may be asked to enter your BitLocker recovery key. 4.After your PC restarts again, select the startup setting you want to use.
Get to safe mode from the Windows sign-in screen: 1.On the Windows sign-in screen, press and hold the Shift key while you select Power Circle with line Power icon > Restart. 2.After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. You may be asked to enter your BitLocker recovery key. 3.After your PC restarts again, select the startup setting you want to use.
When you're done, exit safe mode by restarting your PC. If that doesn't work: 1.Press the Windows logo key Windows logo Start button + R. 2.Type msconfig in the Open box and then select OK. 3.Select the Boot tab. 4.Under Book options, clear the Safe boot checkbox.
I forgot my password and used a disc that allows me to open an administrator level command prompt hoping to delete my password but is not the normal c: prompt but it says x:> drive so any file I type in the response is always "File not found". How can I unspoof the drive?
