Hi,

I've been having this issue since I first started up the computer when I received it (last week). This is with a wireless connection (don't see a LAN connect on the XPS 13 to test it) but wireless is working fine on every other house device. I checked the device manager and network adapters (it is all up to date in regards to updating). This is happening with Google Chrome and I also noticed with Edge. It's happening with all sites. I havn't seen any errors messages yet but will look out for them.
What do you suggest? Any solutions?
Thank you

Im having the same issue!  I just got my Dell xps 13 core i7 8gb ram today and immediately updated to windows 10.  I have absolutely nothing else on it and yet the connection speeds downright ***. sometimes webpages such as simple google (or bing) searches fail.  Every other device in my house works fine and my phone can currently surf the web (what seems like) a billion times faster.  Id love to hear any solutions for this issue.

HI guys,

Did the proposed solution fix the issue for you both? I have an xps 13 (2015) with Windows 8 on it. .. Absolutely no issues with the wifi....but after I upgraded to windows 10 and had all drivers updated, wifi turned to s**t.

I rolled back the dell network adapter, and that seemed to fix things for me.

I have a completely different issue though (after windows 10 upgrade, my memory usage is always at least 50% or higher, considering I don't have alot running.

Try rolling back the driver. worked for me.

I have the same problem. Just bought the Dell xps 13 i7 with the same network card.

I have good wifi signal right next to the router.

But when i am in the same room 10m away. The wifi drops, and cant connect again.

This is the only device i have this problem with.

I cant rollback my wifi driver (the option is grey).

I am also running Windows 10

Any solutions?

Would going back to windows 8 solve the problem?

Hi
Step 2: Error: the system was unable to find the specified registery key or value.

Step 3: Trying to uninstall dni_dne ...

...dni_dne is not installed

So i think it didnt work for me.

Well I certainly wish I'd read this before plopping down $1700 bucks for this so far worthless piece of machinery. After three days of futile attempts I spent two hours with a Dell online tech who finally offered to sell me a service package when he couldn't find a solution! My old slow laptop now seems like the better deal, and, in fact, has no connectivity issues. Windows and Dell are not making me happy.

Yes, I found a solution.

Unistall the network card driver in device manager.

Reboot the pc

disable driver updates for the network card (i used some program i forgot the name of)

Hi guys,

Another XPS 13 9343 owner here with exactly the same problem. My laptop arrived two nights ago and after immediately upgrading to Windows 10, I noticed that wifi will only work for me when I'm sat right in front of my router (none of my other devices have problems connecting to my wifi network from anywhere in my house).

Earlier today, I spent one and a half hours on the phone with technical support where we updated the BIOS, the wireless and bluetooth drivers, we ran a diagnostics test which reported that there was nothing wrong with my hardware. and tried uninstalling the "Dell Wireless 1560 802.11ac" device as suggested above in the device manager. None of this worked at all. When I try plugging in a USB Wireless Adaptor, I get good reception, but with the laptop's own wireless adaptor, I need to sit right next to the router.

Would be interested to learn if anybody has successfully resolved the issue.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi JN96,

I did try uninstalling my Dell Wireless adapter. Is this the thing you meant?

Once I rebooted, it came back though. Might you by chance remember how you disabled driver updates (as I didn't do that bit)?

Thanks,

Chris

Yes,

that's what i meant.

I used this tool to disable the driver updates for the wifi card.:

support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

I have a recent XPS13 with a 1560 wiwfi adapter, just updated to windows 10 and wifi adapter becomes deaf as soon as I get away from my wifi access point (in another room in the house). I am able to "repair" the adapter by uninstalling the driver, then right clicking and ask for "scan for hardware changes".  No need to reboot. The adapter instantly comes back to life ...as long as I stay real close to the access point. I can repeat the failure on demand.

To answer the previous comment with a screen shot, yes, this is where you should go to deactivate and reactivate the wireless adapter. For those who don't know where to find this, just type "device manager" from  the start menu.

This is clearly a driver issue. No "driver roll back" available for me, so I'll have to dig the internet and find an old driver I guess, or an update...?

Driver version is 7.35.295.0

Another file shows version 10.0.10240.16384 (th 1.150709 1700)

Hi there JN96,

Thanks for the link. I have tried your suggestion several times, but it's the same symptoms unfortunately. As soon as the wireless adapter comes back under the device manager after the reboot (or after doing the Scan For Hardware Changes as SimonMti mentioned), then I only get decent reception when I'm sitting right in front of my router. As soon as I go into another room, I get nothing.

I'm not sure if I'm using the wushowhide.diagcab utility correctly though... I don't seem to get a list of updates to hide. I just get this:

Regards,

Chris
